Gautama changes people like Angulimala, Cannibals such as Alavaka. His teachings are a bit different from other religions as he asks people to make their own decisions, without being too extreme on the religion. Buddha completely changed the lives of many who believed in him. Buddha believed that by meditation everybody can get to awakening.
