Scientists are about to announce the discovery of a planet that is near identical to earth. The remarkable body, located through the European Southern Observatory (ESO), is stated to have perfect conditions to sustain animal existence.
The Daily Mirror reviews that a statement is imminent. A spokesman for the ESO refused to deny that they had discovered the planet, clearly announcing that they would not presently “be making any remark.”
The as yet anonymous planet is 4.2 light years faraway from our solar system and orbits the Proxima Centauri star. A source advised German newspaper Der Spiegel:
“The still anonymous planet is assumed to be Earth-like and orbits at a distant to Proxima Centauri that might permit it to have liquid water on its surface – an significant requirement for the emergence of lifestyles. In no way before have scientists found a second Earth that is so nigh.”
Astronomer Professor Phillip Lubin told journalists:
“The discovery of viable planet around Proxima Centauri may be very exciting. It makes the case of traveling close by stellar systems even extra compelling, although we recognize there are many exoplanets around other close by stars and it’s miles very probable that the Alpha Centauri system will even have planets.”
