If Dubai were to be a friend of yours, it would be a filthy rich nut job, but boy would you enjoy playing with its toys. With artificial islands, underwater villas, hotels made of gold, ski slopes and people keeping cheetahs as pets, among other things that the rest of the normal world doesn’t have, it won’t be too outrageous to expect a hotel with a bloody rainforest in it, will it?
Well, it’s happening. Come 2018, Dubai’s Rosemont Hotel & Residences will become the world’s first hotel with an inbuilt rainforest.
Designed by ZAS Architecture, the CGI images created suggest that this one will truly be one hell of an experience for guests.
Apart from having a sick infinity sky pool, it will also be home to a man-made rainforest complete with exotic trees and water bodies around.
The rainforest will apparently be located inside a 5-storey podium at the base of two 47-storey towers.
For the rich, there will be a huge screen displaying the vast marine or vegetation life right above the parking spot.
The hotel is filled with other luxuries as well like a bowling alley, a trampoline park, a luxury cinema hall on the top floor, a beach, and even robotic luggage handlers among other things.
Handled by Hilton Worldwide, it’ll boast of 450 rooms and is expected to be completed in 2018. How much? £230 million (20073435074.96 in Indian currency) or as the rich in Dubai are likely to call it – pocket change.
Now, it’s time for me to sulk about how poor I am. Go on, you do the same. There’s no shame in crying.
